On to the goodness!
My mom's recipe. As you can see it is written on an index card circa 1997.

My non-kitchen oriented self had to gather a lot of ingredients, including loaf pans from the Giant.
The only things we had on hand were milk, sugar, and eggs. Lucky for me, we registered for that KitchenAid mixer that pretty much every couple asks for. I have to say that Mr. Foxy uses it all the time! Well worth the hefty price tag.

So, I threw on my apron (also from the registry) and got to baking. First up - flour and sugar were mixed in. Pretty easy!
Then, I mixed in the rest of the dry stuff - cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda. When I started to add the wet ingredients, things got a little messy. I am not good with eggs. After fishing all the shells out, I added the star flavor: pumpkin!
The recipe says to add either walnuts or chocolate chips, but I couldn't decide. So, why not both? Next, I poured the mixture into the loaf pans and baked at 350 for 75 minutes or so.

It was kind of fun to actually make bread, and I really liked how my apartment smelled. After spending a fair amount on the ingredients, and losing 15 minutes of my life I will never get back fishing egg shells out of the batter, I probably won't be making a habit of hanging out in the kitchen. I know lots of you are not so adverse to cooking, but for someone like me, it makes more sense to support my local bakery and buy a loaf (or get my mom to make it)!
Later today - my Martha project revealed!
