My wonderful sister Persephone works for Wedding Wire as a member of their marketing team. Part of her gig is to go to events like the famous Running of the Brides at Filene's. I begged her to report back and bring pictures. Instead, we've got VIDEO! It's pure awesomeness. The cheers to win a free dress are hilarious. The second video showing the actual stampede is...well, I have no words.

Here is what Persephone had to say about being at the event:
Stampedes of brides and their posses stormed, pounced, grabbed (and some even fought) for one reason: find THE dress! Nowhere else can you find THIS kind of entertainment except at Filene’s Basement’s Running of the Brides. Myself along with several other from the WeddingWire crew were there to pep up the crowd before the doors opened and give away a free dress from Filene’s Basement. The catch? The bride and her posse had to come up with the best cheer, dance, rap or song as to why they deserve the free dress. Brownie points were awarded to those contenders who dropped ‘WeddingWire’ in their “performance." As the designated WeddingWire emcee, it was my job to get everyone hyped about practicing and performing their cheer; it is noteworthy to mention that this contest was at 6AM, when most people’s peppiness is at an ultimate low. Overly caffeinated and high on adrenaline, the brides came through – Check out the videos!
Pure Pandemonium
The highlight of the morning was definitely being punched in the face (albeit accidentally) by two brides fighting for the same dress. If you ever have an opportunity to go to this event, if for no other reason you must go for the pure entertainment value.
