White Chicago is a wedding gown consignment bridal boutique reworked into a totally modern and completely elegant experience. The owners of White Chicago, Ursula and Stacy, have revolutionized the way the wedding community perceives bridal resale. As a result, I have noticed an increase in bridal resale boutiques as well as in brides-to-be considering a once-worn or sample gown.
When I owned my bridal boutique, we often sent White Chicago our samples for resale. Ursula and Stacy are very selective about the condition of the gowns they accept into their inventory, which is a good thing for brides! (Not so much sometimes for boutiques like mine, though.) More than once I was desperate to sell a sample and they would not take it. At the same time, as a retailer, it was reassuring to know that White Chicago is persnickety about what is passed on to the customer.
White Chicago has recently added an online version of their store in the form of WhiteXchange, where brides-to-be can list their gown and manage the selling process of the gown themselves (kind of like eBay or Craigslist). Alternately, gowns can be consigned through WhiteXchange; they will list it and handle all the details.
Ladies hunting for their dream gown but without the dream budget, or ladies who simply can't fathom paying a fortune for a wedding gown, should totally hit up WhiteXchange. When I checked it, listed on the site were gowns by Reem Acra, VeraWang, Melissa Sweet, Monique Lhullier, and more, and all at great prices. Some of the gowns are once worn, and some are store samples that have never seen the outside of a shop.
