Growing up, when I visited my Nena (my grandmother) in Philly, we would stay up late eating Koulourakia cookies (we called them Greek cookies since we are Albanian) and watching old black and white movies, my Nena filling me in all the while about the stars featured in them.
I had several favorite actors, but the one that captured my imagination the most was Marilyn Monroe. When I planned my own wedding, I attempted to channel the glamour she represented for me and add my personal style to it. My gown in particular had the neckline of her famous white dress from The Seven Year Itch.
I came across some images of her via The English Muse and was immediately reminded of the times spent with my Nena, and how much Marilyn Monroe influenced my own wedding.
