Stop and Smell the Roses

Every bride-to-be wants to look (and feel) lovely on her wedding day. It's why we spend endless amounts of time searching for the right gown and consider every option for accessories, hairstyle, and makeup.

What's most important, though, is to savor the moment.

Bride and Groom walk down aisle of church.

I remember standing at the top of the aisle and reminding myself of the best advice my planners (Cammi Mara and Elizabeth Duncan) gave me: "Stand at the top of the aisle and count to five - look around you and take it all in."

I am so glad I did - I vividly remember all of the faces of my friends and family, as well as the moment my mom and I shared as she walked me down the aisle and I went to stand beside my now husband, Andrew. It is one of my most cherished memories.

It is so easy to get caught up in the planning of the party that you sometimes lose sight of what is really going on. You are joining your life with another. Someone who will stick with you no matter what. As time passes (almost five years now), I am more and more reminded how lucky I am that I chose Mr. Fox and that he chose me, and I am so glad I remember the moment that it all (officially) began.
